Hero MotoCorp is preparing to relaunch the Karizma nameplate after trademarking the brand with the XMR suffix. The new generation motorbike is slated to arrive in dealerships later this year.
The Indian 2-wheeler manufacturer is all set to revive the Karizma brand and they might pitch the new Karizma XMR as their flagship motorcycle. Fans must expect the new generation with bated breath, as the last model was phased off in 2020.
The next-generation Karizma will compete with new-age opponents, like the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Yamaha R15 V4, Suzuki Gixxer SF, and the KTM RC 200. We expect it to have a modern look with all the advanced technology.
The bike is slated to get a brand-new engine and it might be offered with a 210cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine might make a max output of 25 HP and a peak torque of 30 Nm. These are speculations at this point, as no official information about the engine is available yet.
Hero’s Karizma line has always represented the value for money aspect. Competitive pricing is expected to be the key strength this time around as well. Hero Motocorp may forego expensive hardware in favour of competitive cost. But we can expect disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS at least as an option.
The new motorbike will fight in the market with a wide choice of 200cc-250cc bikes. It is expected to make its official debut during the holiday season, around Dussehra or Diwali 2023.
