Hyundai Motor India Limited is gearing up to launch two new SUVs in India soon. The first one is the Exter, a micro-SUV that will be positioned below the Venue in the company’s lineup. The Exter has already been revealed and bookings for it are currently underway. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine and will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. The Exter is expected to be priced starting at around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
The second SUV that Hyundai is planning to launch is the Creta facelift. The Creta facelift has been delayed a few times but is now expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2024. The facelift will feature a refreshed design that will be in line with the new Verna. The interiors will also be updated and will get new features such as a 360-degree parking camera and ADAS. The powertrain options will remain the same, except for the new 1.5-litre tGDi engine that will not be offered in the facelift.
The launch of the Exter and the Creta facelift will further strengthen Hyundai’s position in the Indian SUV market. The Exter will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch and the Citroen C3, while the Creta facelift will take on the likes of the Kia Seltos and the Honda Elevate.
