The Tayron presents a sophisticated design, a natural evolution from the latest Tiguan but with enhanced proportions. Sporting a slightly rounded aesthetic, it features an assertive front bumper, stylish alloy wheels, and tasteful chrome accents. Emphasizing versatility, the Tayron initially debuts as a three-row SUV, with a subsequent release of a five-seater SUV-coupe variant.

Delving into the dimensions, the Tayron stands at 4,735mm in length, 1,859mm in width, and 1,682mm in height. This positions it 197mm longer, 17mm wider, and 43mm higher than its 5-seat Tiguan counterpart. The elongated wheelbase, measuring 2,791mm, contributes to a spacious and comfortable interior.

Step inside, and the Tayron welcomes you with a modern interior, showcasing a meticulously crafted dashboard, illuminated trim elements, and innovative air vents. Across the board, each powertrain is equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid system, and drivers can choose between 4WD or 2WD configurations based on their preferences.

Volkswagen goes a step further by offering two petrol plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), boasting an electric-only range exceeding 100km and DC fast charging capabilities. These PHEVs feature a 1.5-liter petrol engine coupled with an electric motor, a 19.7kWh battery pack, and a 6-speed DSG gearbox. However, for the Indian market, the Tayron is expected to debut with the 2.0-liter petrol engine, with no immediate plans for diesel or PHEV variants.

Global Presence and Indian Aspiration

Volkswagen’s CEO, Thomas Schafer, positions the Tayron as a truly global model, manufactured across Germany, China, and Mexico. To cater to the Indian market, assembly through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits is on the cards.
