Kawasaki has unveiled the 2024 Z650RS update with an exciting addition – traction control. This year has been a bustling one for the Japanese bike manufacturer with updates rolling out across its 650cc mid-range lineup, spanning from the Ninja 650 to the Z650, Versys 650, and now, the retro-inspired Z650RS.
What’s New in the 2024 Kawasaki Z650 RS?
The latest inclusion in Kawasaki’s 650cc portfolio is the Z650RS now boasting a traction control system, referred to as the KTRC System by Kawasaki and this system offers two modes to enhance rider safety. Mode 1 provides a less intrusive traction control level allowing riders to confidently attack corners. In contrast, Mode 2 is designed for challenging and wet riding conditions offering more effective wheelspin management. For those who prefer to ride without traction control interference, the option to switch it off is available.
Specifications and Features
The 2024 Kawasaki Z650RS retains its reliable 649cc engine producing 67bhp and 64Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This retro-styled bike continues to feature twin 300mm front disc brakes, a single 220mm rear disc, and dual-channel ABS for reliable stopping power and the bike boasts a 15-liter fuel tank, a ground clearance of 130mm, and a comfortable saddle height of 790mm. A single seat, classic round headlight, twin-pod analog-digital instrument console, and 17-inch alloy wheels complete its retro aesthetics.
Availability and Pricing
While Kawasaki has not yet announced the launch date for the 2024 Z650RS in India the current version is priced at Rs 6.92 lakh, ex-showroom in Delhi. It is expected that this updated model may come with a slightly higher price tag. In India, the Z650RS competes with other notable bikes in its segment such as the twin-cylinder Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, the three-cylinder Triumph Trident 660, and the inline-four Honda CB650R.
