Kia India debuted the Carnival at the 2020 Auto Expo. Making it the brand’s second car to join the Indian market after the Seltos in 2019. The luxury MPV was well-received by purchasers and competed against the top-end models of the Toyota Innova Crysta and the Hycross.
The more stringent BSVI stage 2 emission rules went into effect on April 1, 2023. Kia’s best-selling models have been modified to follow these emission rules. The Carnival looks to have been discontinued, though no formal confirmation has been provided by the brand.
Whether the 2.2L diesel engine of Carnival will be improved to meet BSVI stage 2 standards or not is not known. We expect that the new Carnival will be introduced by the South Korean automaker in early 2024. Kia has been selling the 4th-generation Carnival in global markets. They have been doing so since the second half of 2020, with a completely revamped look and interior.
Kia previewed the next-generation model with the KA4 concept at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. Kia was spotted testing the facelifted Carnival in its homeland this month, with a redesigned design and a new hybrid powertrain. It will very get vertical-positioned headlamps like the EV9 three-row electric SUV.
The LED DRLs will have completely new graphics, as will the front and rear bumpers, bonnets, tail lamps, and so on. The tail lamps could be inverted L-shaped, similar to the facelifted Seltos that will be delivered in the coming months.
The revamped Carnival is expected to make its global debut in January 2024. Following its debut, it may be released in areas such as India in early or mid-2024. The new Carnival is more premium than the discontinued model, and it may be available in many seating combinations.
