Mahindra is getting ready to introduce the XUV700 EV, often referred to as the XUV.e8 which will have a big impact on the electric vehicle industry. Recently, this forthcoming model—which is expected to compete with the Tata Harrier EV—was sighted during a test drive providing additional information about its features and design.
Exterior Highlights
- Front Fascia: The XUV.e8 will boast a full-width light bar, a blanked-off grille, and a redesigned front bumper with wider air inlets. The headlamp unit will be completely new, featuring a cubical shape.
Wheels: The SUV will be equipped with aero-inspired alloy wheels, distinguishing it from the standard XUV700. - Side Profile: The side profile will remain largely unchanged, with flush-fitting door handles.
- Rear Design: The back profile, which features an enlarged roof spoiler, a high-mounted stop lamp, a shark fin antenna, a rear wiper, LED taillamps, and a modified rear bumper, will largely remain the same from the internal combustion engine (ICE) version.
Interior Upgrades
The cabin of the XUV.e8 will undergo a major overhaul, featuring:
- A new twin-spoke steering wheel
- An all-digital instrument cluster with a new UI
- A new gear selector lever
- A larger infotainment screen
- An additional third screen for the co-driver
Powertrain and Dimensions
One electric motor installed on the front axle and an 80kWh battery pack are expected to power the XUV.e8. The SUV will measure 4,740mm in length and have a wheelbase of 2,762mm.
Launch Timeline
The redesigned XUV.e8 is set to debut later this year adding an electric option to Mahindra’s lineup and further expanding the brand’s presence in the EV market.
