Man Takes a Hands-Free Ride on Ola S1 Pro – Here’s the CEO’s Response

A man is seen riding his Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 scooter without using his hands in a recent viral video that went viral on X (previously Twitter), along with a funny caption. “Guy returning home after wife said on the phone ‘ghar aao, Batali hun fir!'” This video caught the attention of Ola’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal.

In response, Bhavish Aggarwal quote-posted the video, humorously suggesting that he is contemplating charging a subscription fee for cruise control after witnessing the video.

What makes this even more intriguing is that back in March 2023, Bhavish Aggarwal teased a radar-based cruise control feature, which falls under the category of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), under development. Once perfected this feature is expected to make its way into the next-generation S1 Pro.

ADAS-based cruise control, also known as adaptive cruise control, adjusts the vehicle’s speed based on the traffic conditions ahead. On the other hand, conventional cruise control allows the rider to set a specific speed, handy for situations with light traffic or when covering long distances, reducing rider fatigue.

However, it is important to remember that abusing such a feature on crowded highways might endanger not just the rider but also other commuters, emphasizing the importance of using these technologies responsibly and safely.
