Maruti’s First Electric SUV Spied in Production-Ready Form – Live Photos

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, the eVX, has been spotted testing in production-ready form for the first time. The SUV was seen in Krakow, Poland, where Toyota has a vehicle manufacturing plant.

The eVX is heavily camouflaged, but the overall design is similar to the concept that was shown at the 2023 Auto Expo. The SUV has a flat bonnet, an upright nose, and large headlamps. The rear door handle is located on the C-pillar, and the taillights are connected by a light bar.

The interior of the eVX has also been spotted. The dashboard features a twin-screen setup, similar to the Mahindra XUV700. There is also a floating centre console with a rotary dial and a horizontal stack of physical buttons and knobs. The steering wheel has a distinctive two-spoke design.

The eVX is expected to be powered by a 60kWh battery and a range of around 500 kilometres. There will also be an entry-level variant with a smaller battery and a range of around 400 kilometres.

The production-spec eVX is expected to be manufactured in Gujarat, India, for both domestic and international sales. The YV8 is scheduled to be released in 2025. It will be the first electric SUV from Maruti Suzuki and will compete with the Hyundai Creta EV.

Here are some additional details about the YV8:

  • It will be built on a newborn-electric platform that will be shared with Toyota.
  • It will be manufactured in India for both domestic and international markets.
  • It will be available in two variants: a standard variant with a 60kWh battery pack and a range of 500 kilometres, and an entry-level variant with a 48kWh battery pack and a range of 400 kilometres.
  • It will be equipped with a variety of features, including a 360-degree camera, a frameless rearview mirror, and ADAS technology.

The YV8 is a significant step forward for Maruti Suzuki. It is the company’s first electric SUV and will help it to compete in the growing electric vehicle market. The YV8 is also expected to be a popular model in India, where the demand for electric vehicles is increasing.
