Mercedes-Benz Introduces GLE LWB and AMG C 43 in the Indian Market

Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE LWB facelift and the AMG C 43 in the Indian market, adding more choices to its impressive lineup. The GLE is available in three variants: 300d, 450, and 450d, with prices starting at Rs. 96.40 lakhs, Rs. 1.10 crores, and Rs. 1.15 crores (ex-showroom), respectively. Meanwhile, the Mercedes AMG C 43 is priced at Rs. 98 lakhs (ex-showroom).

GLE LWB Facelift – A Stylish Upgrade

Mercedes has given the GLE a facelift, introducing subtle changes to its exterior. New bumpers, updated taillights and bumpers at the back, a redesigned grille, and new headlights with updated detailing are all part of these upgrades. Fresh alloy wheel designs are now on offer, and the 450d and 450 variants come with AMG body styling for a sportier appearance.

Refined Interior and MBUX Infotainment

While the interior retains its elegance, there have been slight changes in materials and color schemes. Mercedes now offers a new 3-spoke steering wheel for added comfort. The GLE comes equipped with the second generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, offering a premium experience and it also features a Burmester sound system with 13 speakers and a system output of 590 watts.

Enhanced Performance with ISG Technology

The updated engines in the Mercedes GLE LWB now incorporate ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) technology. The GLE 300d is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 269 HP and 550 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 230 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.

The GLE 450d is powered by a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 367 horsepower and 750 Newton-meters of torque and this results in a 0-100 km/hr time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/hr.

For those who prefer petrol, the GLE 450 comes with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine producing 381 HP and 500 Nm of torque and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/hr. All three engines are paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission.

AMG C 43 – A Performance Marvel

The Mercedes AMG C 43 is a high-performance variant of the C-Class, featuring sportier exterior and interior elements. It is powered by a remarkable 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, notable for being the world’s first series-production engine to be turbocharged with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger. Thanks to the 48-volt onboard electrical system, the electric exhaust gas turbo can operate at speeds of up to 1,75,000 RPM, enabling an exceptionally high air flow rate.

Under the hood, the 1991cc engine produces a stunning 408 HP at 6750 RPM and 500 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. This power is harnessed by a 9-speed AMG automatic transmission, allowing the AMG C 43 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 4.6 seconds.
