Honda has announced the launch of their new scooter Dio 125 in the Indian market. Honda is offering the Dio in two variants: Standard and Smart. The Honda Dio starts at Rs 83,400 (ex-showroom). A 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with eSP powers the new Honda Dio. This OBD2-compliant engine comes with a Honda ACG starter, friction reduction, improved combustion, improved tumble flow, and solenoid valves. Honda Dio 125 generates 8.14 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm @ 5,000 rpm.
When it comes to style and design the scooter is bold just like the 110cc Honda Dio. The front features an apron-mounted headlight and turn indicators. The body panels are sharp and sleek. It has a split-style pillion grabrail and a dual outlet exhaust with a heat shield.
The Dio comes with fresh graphics and a new logo which compliments the style of this new scooter. Honda is offering the Dio in seven colour palette options. These are Pearl Deep Ground Grey, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Sports Red, MatteSangria Red, and Pearl Night Star Black.
Both the variants of the new Honda Dio 125cc are packed with features. These scooters come with an LED headlight and integrated headlamp beam & passing switch. It also has an idling stop system, a side-stand indicator with an engine inhibitor, and a combined braking system. The Smart variant of the Honda Dio benefits from some extra features that are not on the standard variant. These include H-smart technology which has features like smart find, security functions, and keyless start.
Honda has equipped both variants of Dio with telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable single rear spring for suspension. The braking system consists of drum brakes on the standard variant and a petal-type front disc brake on the smart version. Both the Dio variants come with a front pocket and an 18-litre under-seat storage.
Honda is offering the standard variant of Dio at Rs 83,400. While the Smart variant of the Honda Dio is offered at INR 91,300. On both Dio models, Honda provides a special 10-year warranty package (3 years standard and 7 years optional extension).
