A new design patent for Hero’s future bike has been revealed on the internet. And it appears to be a new 200cc model. The design gives the impression of a beefier Xtreme 160R. This new bike might replace the vacuum left by the defunct Xtreme 200R.
The engine proportions and kick-starter design are quite like the Xpulse 200 models. The exhaust system design is comparable to the recently revised Xpulse 200T. If that 4-valve engine is used in this vehicle, you can expect around a max power of 19 hp and a peak torque of 17 Nm. The power is to be delivered to the rear tyre via a 5-speed transmission. These figures would put it on par with the segment leader, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
The headlamp unit and shroud appear to be comparable to those seen on the Xtreme 160R, albeit a little more refined. The form of the fuel tank, side panels, and seat are also very similar. As are the ergonomics, which include a flat, wide handlebar and rear-set footpegs. It distinguishes itself by having a broader, more enclosing belly pan and wider, sharper panels bordering the rear seat.
Despite these similarities, this new motorcycle may not be called the Xtreme 200R. Hero MotoCorp may instead rely on nostalgia to bolster the bike’s popularity. Giving it a renowned nameplate from the past, such as Hero Hunk 200. No matter what it is called it will have a single-downtube frame. The frame is mounted on a telescopic front fork, a rear mono-shock, and a box-section swingarm. Both ends will have 17-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes.
