Hero MotoCorp is getting ready to resurrect Karizma ZMR, one of its most recognisable nameplates, in a contemporary guise. Earlier this year, a special gathering gave the brand’s dealers a first peek at the upcoming model, which is anticipated to be called the Karizma XMR. The leaked patent file has given us a closer glimpse at its design at this point.
With its aggressive front fairing, crisp lines, and muscular fuel tank, the forthcoming Karizma XMR has a remarkable appearance. The motorcycle’s elevated clip-on handlebar and centred footpegs appear to offer relaxing ergonomics as well. As a result, it ought to make a fantastic travel companion for both adventurous city commuting and long travel.
Here are some of the key features of the 2023 Hero Karizma XMR:
- Large digital-instrument console
- All-LED lighting – headlight, taillight, and turn indicators
- Rear monoshock suspension
- New 210cc single-cylinder engine
The front suspension comprises conventional telescopic forks and not USD forks. But the engine is expected to be more powerful than the motor on Xpulse 200 4V. It belts out a max power of 18.9 bhp and a peak torque of 17.35 Nm.
The Hero Karizma XMR is currently undergoing road testing and is expected to launch soon, likely before the end of this year. We anticipate it to cost between Rs. 1.7 lakh and Rs. 2.0 lakh (ex-showroom). This will make it a competitor to Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Bajaj Pulsar F250, and even Yamaha YZF-R15.
There is a lot of excitement among brand aficionados for the new Karizma. Whether Hero can live up to the anticipation and create a motorcycle deserving of the Karizma moniker remains to be seen.
