Jeep India has introduced two unique editions of the Meridian three-row SUV. While no comprehensive pricing information is provided. Jeep India claims that costs for both special editions start at Rs 33.41 lakh and go up to Rs 38.47 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices for the new editions depend on the accessory packs chosen by the buyer.
The Jeep Meridian X and Meridian Upland feature more body-coloured accents. Both editions come with alloy wheels with grey inlays and a contrasting grey roof. There are two paint colours available: Galaxy Blue and Silvery Moon.
New ambient lighting shades and puddle lamps are available for the Jeep Meridian X and Meridian Upland. Both variants include a back entertainment kit with an 11.6-inch WiFi-enabled screen. On the Meridian X and Meridian Upland, this attachment is available at a 50% discount. A roof carrier, side stairs, and sunshades are all included in the basic package. A tyre inflator and one-of-a-kind hood decals are also included.
The same 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine powers both SUVs. Its engine produces 170 horsepower plus 350 Nm of peak torque and is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Jeep Meridian X and Meridian Upland have no further mechanical differences.
Jeep manufactures Meridian in India for both domestic and export sales. In India, the SUV confronts severe competition from the more popular Toyota Fortuner and, to a lesser extent, the MG Gloster. Jeep appears to be attempting to keep the excitement continuing with the Meridian X and Meridian Upland special editions, given the firm has no major SUV launches planned in the near future.
