Introducing the Nissan Hyper Tourer Concept
Concept vehicles are vital for car manufacturers to showcase their future vision and gather feedback. In many cases, these concepts make it to production in a modified form. Nissan’s latest concept, the Hyper Tourer is part of their series of advanced electric vehicle (EV) concepts.
A Glimpse of the Hyper Tourer Concept
The Nissan Hyper Tourer concept will be physically displayed at the Japan Mobility Show, starting on the 25th of this month and this all-electric minivan aims to completely transform transportation in the future. Creating a place where people can connect on business trips or road trips is the main goal and the concept combines the spirit of “omotenashi,” or hospitality, with cutting-edge technologies such as V2X (Vehicle to Everything) communication and autonomous driving. Notably, its large capacity onboard battery allows it to power stores and residences.
Spacious and Innovative Interior
Inside the Hyper Tourer concept, Nissan has designed a spacious interior inspired by their EV Technology Vision and it incorporates high-density solid-state batteries for efficient packaging and a low center of gravity. The interior blends digital elements with natural patterns like “kumiko” and “koushi.” There’s a flat LED panel on the floor displaying images of a riverbed and the sky. The front seats can swivel, allowing passengers to have face-to-face conversations with those in the rear.
Impressive Powertrains and Exterior Design
Nissan equips the Hyper Tourer concept with the e-4ORCE all-wheel control system, ensuring good acceleration and performance and the solid-state batteries provide ample power and the concept also features autonomous driving technology allowing the driver to engage with their companions. Rear occupants can control navigation and audio using wearable displays promoting unity among passengers and the vehicle’s exterior maintains typical mini-van proportions with smooth body panels and distinctive character lines, capturing Japanese traditional beauty. Aerodynamics has received special attention, with a central white line flowing around the vehicle and housing headlights and signature lamps.
