Nov 2023 Mid-Size SUV Sales Report: XUV700, Harrier, Safari, Hector, Scorpio

The Indian mid-size SUV segment, covering vehicles between 4.4 to 4.7 meters in length, showcased a robust performance in November 2023, revealing a noteworthy year-on-year growth of 35.93%. This surge elevated the sales from 20,945 units in November 2022 to an impressive 28,471 units in the same month of 2023.

Year-on-Year Insights: Scorpio and XUV700 Lead the Charge

  1. Mahindra’s Triumph: Mahindra emerged as the star performer during this period, driven by the success of the Scorpio and XUV700. The Scorpio range experienced a staggering 88.77% surge in sales, reaching 12,185 units, compared to 6,455 units in November 2022.
  2. XUV700’s Momentum: The Mahindra XUV700 also contributed significantly to this success, recording a commendable 26.66% growth. Sales rose to 7,221 units up from 5,701 units in the corresponding period last year.
  3. Tata Motors’ Positive Trend: Tata Motors showcased positive growth rates with the updated Harrier and Safari models, registering increases of 9.77% and 53.58%, respectively.
  4. Challenges for Others: However, Hyundai Alcazar faced a setback with a noticeable 25.45% decline, selling 1,913 units in November 2023 compared to 2,566 units in November 2022. Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson also experienced substantial drops of 60.73% and 52.23%, selling 216 and 118 units, respectively.

  3. Tata Safari’s Soaring Success: Tata’s Safari, however, showcased a remarkable 64.70% increase in sales month-on-month, selling 2,207 units in November, up from 1,340 units in October.
