Porsche India has introduced its second electric vehicle in the country, the Macan Turbo EV and this marks the brand’s debut of a fully electric SUV. The Macan Turbo EV is available in a single, fully loaded configuration and is priced at Rs. 1.65 crore (ex-showroom). Interested buyers can now reserve this electric SUV, and deliveries are expected to start in the latter half of 2024.
In terms of appearance, the electric Macan closely resembles its traditional ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart. It features unique four-point LED daytime running lights, split LED headlights, frameless doors, a connected LED light bar at the rear, a coupe-style body, and large 22-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Porsche Turbo EV comes equipped with a curved 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, physical buttons for the air conditioning controls, a heads-up display, and an optional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger. Porsche active suspension management, Porsche traction management, and optional rear-wheel steering with a maximum angle of five degrees are further noteworthy characteristics.
Powered by the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture, the Macan Turbo EV SUV is equipped with a 100kWh battery pack. It boasts a WLTP-claimed range of up to 591km on a single charge. Charging the battery from 10-80 percent can be accomplished in about 21 minutes using a 270kW DC fast charger. The Macan Turbo EV features a dual-motor setup on both axles delivering an impressive 630bhp and 1130Nm of torque and this setup enables the SUV to accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 3.3 seconds.
