Royal Enfield continues to dominate the 350cc motorcycle segment in India, with its Classic 350 leading the sales charts. The company’s other models, such as the Hunter 350 and Bullet 350, also performed well in June 2023.
According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Royal Enfield sold 27,003 units of the Classic 350 in June 2023. This was a 6.21% increase over the 25,425 units sold in June 2022. The Hunter 350 was the second best-selling model in the segment, with 16,162 units sold. This was a 14.35% decrease over the 18,869 units sold in May 2023.
The Bullet 350 also saw a YoY increase in sales, with 8,019 units sold in June 2023. This was a 36.08% increase over the 5,893 units sold in June 2022. Royal Enfield is planning to launch a new avatar of the Bullet in the coming months, and sales of the motorcycle are expected to increase further.
The Meteor 350 and Electra 350 were the only two Royal Enfield models that saw a YoY decrease in sales in June 2023. Sales of the Meteor dipped 20.60% to 6,864 units, while sales of the Electra fell 0.99% to 4,320 units.
The Honda CB350 was the only other model in the 350cc segment to see a huge YoY increase in sales. The motorcycle sold 4,125 units in June 2023, which was a 94.58% increase over the 2,120 units sold in June 2022. The Honda CB350 has received new colours in Japan, but no other changes have been made to the motorcycle.
Jawa/Yezdi (retail) sales fell 23.26% YoY to 2,553 units in June 2023. This was a decrease from the 3,327 units sold in June 2022. Jawa/Yezdi motorcycles recently received some updates, improving NVH levels and performance. However, the prices of motorcycles have also increased marginally.
