Royal Enfield Scram 440: India Launch Update and Key Details

Royal Enfield is developing a new scrambler motorcycle called the Scram 440. It is expected to launch in less than a year and is codenamed D4K. The Scram 440 will not be based on the upcoming 450cc liquid-cooled platform, but will instead use an air- and oil-cooled 440cc engine that is derived from the 411cc engine found in the Himalayan and Scram 411.

This means that the Scram 440 will be less powerful than the Himalayan 450, but it will also be more affordable. Additionally, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 won’t be designed for off-road use like the Himalayan and it would be a more street-oriented scrambler motorcycle.

The future of the Scram 411 is uncertain and it is unclear whether the new Scram 440 will be sold alongside the existing Scram 411 or replace it. However, it is more likely that the Scram 440 will replace the Scram 411. This is because the Scram 440 will be more powerful and have a more modern design than the Scram 411. Royal Enfield may continue to offer the Scram 411 in select areas in order to provide buyers with a more economical scrambler choice.

The Scram 440 is expected to be launched within the next 12 months. Royal Enfield may price the Scram 440 aggressively, following the lead of Harley-Davidson and Triumph. This means that the Scram 440 could be priced competitively against other middleweight scrambler motorcycles on the market.

The Scram 440 is just one of many new Royal Enfield motorcycles that are being readied for launch. These new models span the entirety of the brand’s lineup, from the updated J-platform Bullet 350 to new 750cc twin-cylinder models.
