Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Spotted Testing Again – Report

Royal Enfield has many motorcycles planned for the rest of the year. And in recent months, we’ve discovered the Himalayan 450, 2023 Bullet 350, and a few others. The Shotgun 650 has made another appearance on public roads this time, and here’s what we know about it.

The Shotgun 650 will be designed in a retro style throughout. The test bike has a round headlight (as seen in previous spy shots) with some neat cladding around it. Royal Enfield may offer the Shotgun 650 with a split seat setup and tubular grab rails on both sides.

The Shotgun will be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine with a six-speed gearbox. The previous models’ 47 bhp and 52 Nm output may be carried over to the new bike. It will also have twin-pod instrumentation. The larger pod will house the speedometer, odometer, digital inset for the fuel gauge, and trip metre. And the Tripper Navigation system will sit in the smaller pod.

Aside from that, the Shotgun 650 will have USD front forks and twin rear shocks, like the Super Meteor. The braking system could include a single front and rear disc with ABS. The system will be mounted on alloy wheels with road-biased tyres. With the Shotgun 650, Royal Enfield could also offer a slew of accessories.

The Meteor 650 is currently Royal Enfield’s most premium and expensive motorcycle. And we expect that the Shotgun will sit beneath it. Having said that, the test mule appears to be closer to the production version and could be released soon.
