Tata Motors Launches Exclusive EV Showrooms in Gurugram

Tata Motors, under its electric division Tata.ev, has inaugurated two dedicated showrooms for its electric vehicles (EVs) in the National Capital Region. These showrooms aim to exclusively retail Tata’s range of electric vehicles, including the existing Nexon EV and Tiago EV, along with upcoming models like the Punch EV, Harrier EV, and Curvv EV.

Location and Opening Dates: The first two EV-only showrooms are situated in Sector 14 and Sohna Road in Gurugram. The inauguration is scheduled for January 7, 2024. Tata Motors plans to establish two to three more outlets in cities with high EV adoption, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, within the next 12-18 months.

Customer-Centric Approach: Tata Motors recognizes that EV customers, many of whom are early adopters, are well-informed about products. The showrooms are designed to be tech-enabled allowing potential buyers to explore the offerings independently. Sales consultants, trained for meaningful conversations, will be available to assist customers when needed emphasizing a customer-centric approach over traditional sales pitches.

Workshop Facilities: Each showroom will feature a separate workshop to address aftersales services and other customer needs. Tata aims to enhance the overall ownership experience by providing dedicated service facilities for EV customers.

Eco-Friendly Construction: The showrooms are constructed with an ecological focus, incorporating elements such as walls made from recycled plastic, sensor-driven LED lights, and the use of recycled and recyclable materials. Unfired clay bricks are also part of the construction materials.

Community Engagement: Tata plans to engage with the community through its Evolve community by organizing events like yoga sessions. Additionally arrangements will be made for partners interested in selling eco-friendly products at the showrooms. The outlets will accept waste for recycling providing a holistic eco-friendly environment.

Business Impact: Currently, Tata Motors sees 15 percent of its total volume and 20 percent of its revenue coming from EVs. The introduction of dedicated EV showrooms coupled with upcoming additions to the EV portfolio is expected to contribute to an increase in these figures.

Tata Motorscommitment to establishing dedicated EV showrooms reflects the growing importance of electric mobility in its business strategy. By combining customer-centric approaches, eco-friendly initiatives, and strategic expansion, Tata aims to further strengthen its position in the evolving electric vehicle market in India.
