Tata Safari Storme to be Discontinued Soon [Production Stopped]

As per the latest buzz, Tata Motors has decided to discontinue the Safari Storme SUV from the Indian automobile market. The automaker has made up its mind to wrap up the production process of the Safari Storme, which in turn means that the SUV will be axed soon.

The authorised dealerships have been notified by the brand about not accepting any fresh bookings for the SUV and they have also been told to try selling off the stocks that are remaining in the warehouses. Some reports also suggest that certain dealerships have also stopped offering test drives of the Tata Safari Storme.

The SUV was introduced in the Indian market back in 2012 and in the sales quotient, the Safari Storme did perform fairly well in the initial stages but soon its impact on the market started fading away. This year, the brand has managed to sell an average of just 100 units per month. In October 2019, only 165 units were sold in the 31-day period, registering a 74.3% drop in comparison to the sales report of October 2018.

Mechanically, the Tata Safari Storme SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder DOHC Varicor 320 engine for the base LX and EX variant whereas the VX and VX 4X4 variants have been equipped with a Varicor 400 version.

The engine that is present in the base variants is capable to generate a maximum power of 150HP and 320Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the VX variants are capable of generating a peak power of 156HP and 400Nm of peak torque.
