The yearly motorcycle sales report for FY2023 is out now, and compared to the 73,87,645 motorcycles sold in FY 2022, sales of motorcycles increased by 14.06% to 84,26,714 in FY 2023.
The Splendor was the best-selling motorbike in FY 2023, and Hero MotoCorp ruled the motorcycle market. Sales of the Splendor brand grew 22.15% in FY 2023. It increased its volume by 5,90,358 units and now holds a 38.64% share of the market.
With an increase of 9.74% over the previous fiscal year, Honda CB Shine ranked second. In March 2023, the brand unveiled the new Shine 100, which is viewed as a serious competitor to the Hero Splendor. Delivery of the Honda Shine 100cc is expected to start in May 2023.
Sales of the Hero HF Deluxe fell in FY 2023 with a 9.71% YoY decline. On this list, HF Deluxe holds a 12.48% share of the market. Bajaj Pulsar series sales increased by 32.43% in FY 2023. There was a volume rise of 2,52,013 units.
With 5,34,017 units sold over the previous fiscal year, Bajaj Platina came in at No. 5. There was a 7.26% YoY decline from the units sold in FY 2022. With a volume decline, the Platina held 6.34% of this market.
The TVS Apache, which sold 3,49,878 units in FY 2023, came in at No. 6. This represented an increase of 7.21% YoY from the 3,25,598 units sold in FY 2022. In February 2023, the TVS Apache achieved a new sales milestone of record-breaking 5 million units (50 lakhs).
8,34,895 units sold in FY 2023 marked the greatest sales ever for Royal Enfield. The RE Classic 350 saw sales of 3,14,982 units sold in FY 2023, a YoY increase of 17.70% from the units sold in FY 2022.
Hero Glamour sales had a YoY decline of 11.70% in FY 2023. The TVS Raider experienced the most YoY growth in this list, with a 211.94% increase. The Yamaha FZ was number 10 on the list with a 29.36% increase YoY.
