At the Japan Mobility Show 2023, Toyota Auto Body, a subsidiary of the renowned Toyota group, introduced a range of captivating concepts at its exhibit. Among them, the Hiace BEV Concept and Vellfire Spacious Lounge Concept have garnered attention. Additionally, a first-generation Hiace is on display paying homage to the minivan’s rich history and iconic heritage. However, one vehicle that’s capturing everyone’s imagination is the X-Van Gear concept.
Key Features of the Toyota X-Van Gear Concept
For those who love exploring the great outdoors, their choice of vehicle needs to meet a variety of requirements. Among the essential elements that are impossible to ignore are seating flexibility, cargo capacity, safety, comfort, and dependability and the Toyota X-Van Gear concept not only satisfies these practical requirements but also combines the aggressive styling and creature comforts of an SUV which makes it an excellent choice for adventure seekers.
The design of the Toyota X-Van Gear concept exudes a fortress-like aesthetic. It gives the impression of a vehicle ready for battle but in reality, it is an innovative and futuristic minivan with a rugged allure and this vehicle is well-equipped to tackle moderately challenging terrains while providing its occupants with comfort and protection from the elements due to its mini-van origins.
Users are encouraged to explore their favorite outdoor destinations with confidence due to the van’s sturdy profile. Its boxy design stands firmly on the ground and features prominent visual elements such as a large, flat front grille, prominent front and rear bumpers, and a substantial hood.
The lighting components have a pixel-style design that is similar to the Hiace BEV concept. The side profile stands out with its muscular fenders and thick cladding on the door panels. The Toyota X-Van Gear concept boasts sliding doors at both the front and rear, while the blacked-out window frames add a sporty touch. A dual-layer roof rack is provided for securing a wide range of equipment and gear.
Customizable Interiors for Versatility
Notably, there are no B pillars in the Toyota X-Van Gear concept, making ingress and egress a breeze and this feature also allows users to load items that wouldn’t fit in a standard vehicle with B pillars. For example, the van is a great option for outdoor enthusiasts because it can easily fit things like fishing rods and bicycles.
The Toyota X-Van Gear concept car has enough room inside for every passenger. The measurements of the van are 1,855 mm in height, 1,820 mm in width, and 4,695 mm in length. The available internal dimensions are 1,550 mm in width, 1,340 mm in height, and 2,965 mm in length. Six people may travel in luxury in the van thanks to its three rows of seats. The driver’s area has a simple yet functional driver’s seat, a large touchscreen, and a flat dashboard.
In terms of seating arrangements and features, the van boasts sofa-like seats in the third row, a foldable table in the second row, swiveling seats in the first row, and a split sunroof. The seats have a total of six different modifications to accommodate varied needs and it is crucial to note that the X-Van Core and X-Van Tool variants have distinct appearance and seating combinations that provide users with flexibility.
Regarding powertrain options for the X-Van range, Toyota has not yet disclosed specific details. It is possible that these vans will be available with both internal combustion engines (ICE) and electric powertrain options providing choices to suit various preferences and requirements.
