According to a recent update posted by Motoroids, TVS Motor is planning to launch the naked version of the Apache RR 310 later this month. Expected to launch as Apache RTR 310, the motorcycle was earlier expected to make its official debut last month but it didn’t happen. If the latest update is true, we can expect TVS to release some teaser images or videos in the coming days.
When TVS introduced the RR 310 in 2017, it took the market by storm. It paved the way for the possibility of a naked motorcycle, the Apache RTR 310. When it comes to styling, we can expect TVS to stick to the Draken concept that was unveiled in 2014. While the current generation of Apache is like the Draken, we can expect the Apache RTR 310 to be closer to the concept and have more aggressive styling.
The 312cc single-cylinder engine of Apache RR 310 produces a max power of 33.5 bhp and a peak torque of 27.3 Nm. While this engine is designed to provide a higher top speed on the RR 310, TVS Motor is expected to change the tune on the RTR 310 to suit its character. This implies that the RTR 310 will have different mapping and sprockets. According to sources, the motorcycle will have a top speed of 158 km/h.
The Apache RTR 310 is expected to use the same suspension and braking components as the RR 310. The setup is expected to be tweaked once more to make it more pliant for city riding. The bike, like the RR310, will most likely ride on Michelin Road 5 tyres.
The Apache RTR 310 will be priced lower than its full-faired sibling, which costs Rs 2.65 lakh. We can expect a price of around Rs 2.45 ex-showroom. At this price, the RTR 310 would be less expensive than the BMW G310 R, which costs Rs 2.80 lakh ex-showroom. The RTR 310 will compete with the like of the KTM 250 Duke, Honda CB300R, and KTM 390 Duke.
