TVS iQube Electric Scooter Launched in India @ INR 1.15 Lakh

TVS Motor has launched its first-ever all-electric scooter in India with an on-road price tag of INR 1.15 lakh. Christened as TVS iQube, the scooter will only be available in Bengaluru in the first phase while the brand has promised to launch it in other metro cities in the coming months. According to the brand, the current production capacity of the iQube electric scooter stands at 1,000 units per month.

The all-new TVS iQube is based on the Qube concept scooter that was initially showcased at the Auto Expo back in 2012. The iQube is powered by a 4.4kW electric motor that is mated to a 4.5kWh lithium-ion battery which can be further charged from 0-100% in 5 hours. The iQube can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 4.2 seconds while the company-claimed top speed of the electric scooter stands at 78kmph.

TVS iQube is not equipped with a fast-charging technology while the scooter promises a range of 75km on a single charge. The kerb weight of the e-scooter stands at 118kgs. In terms of features, the iQube is equipped with an all-digital instrument console that further features the SmartXonnect connected technology.

In addition to that, the scooter is equipped with LED DRLs, LED headlamp and taillight. Some of the other key features of the TVS iQube include two riding modes (Economy and Power), reverse gear with park assist, day/night display and smartphone integration.

The suspension duties of the scooter are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear end is equipped with a monoshock. For braking performance, the TVS iQube features a front disc brake along with a rear drum brake setup. The e-scooter can be booked online as well as at the select dealerships for a token amount of INR 5,000 while the deliveries are expected to begin from next week.

At the launch event, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, said, “TVS Motor is driven by Customer-Centric Innovation.
