Makar Sankranti 2023 is just going to hit the floor; and just like any other important festival of Hindus, this day is celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Usually, this event occurs in the Lunar month of Magha, which comes in the month of January every year. So most commonly, Makar Sankranti celebrations arise on the 14th or 15th dates of January every year. Also, except for a few times, this date shifts on a not-so-frequent basis.
To celebrate the Makar Sankranti festival, Hindu people love taking a dip in the holy water of the rivers of Ganges, Yamuna as well as Godavari; and, it is thought that this dip removes all the poor karma of the past and brings a refreshed life to human beings.

Also, Til laddoo and Chikkis are consumed in most areas of the Indian states on Makar Sankranti. Therefore, the list of celebrations goes on and on, primarily when it comes to making the most of this amazing event of the Hindu religion.
In fact, people from other religions and countries, other than India, also involve themselves in the happiness and festivity which run in the air on the day of Makar Sankranti.
Moreover, to summarize, different states love making different cuisines based on their customs to enjoy this event. For example, in Gujrat, undhiyu is a dish which is made on the day of Makar Sankranti.
At the same time, in West Bengal, Patishapta, Pithe Puli as well as Pyaesh are made as the prime delicacy on this wonderful day. Similarly, in Punjab, Pinni is made and in Tamil Nadu, a traditional food which is called Sakkarai Pongal is made on the time of Pongal (as it falls during the time of Makar Sankranti only).
