Yamaha MT-07 and YZF-R7 Bookings Open in India – Report

Yamaha recently presented the 700cc twins to select dealers at an event. This was done to extend its big bike lineup in India. Unofficial bookings for the MT-07 and YZF-R7 have already begun at a few dealerships across India. With a token amount ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000, you can now reserve one of these big bikes. Yamaha is planning to make their debut in the second half of this year.

2023 Yamaha R7

Yamaha has powered both bikes with a 689cc twin-cylinder engine. This engine comes with a six-speed gearbox. It dishes out a max power of 73 bhp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Even though the mechanical specs are similar on both bikes, the two bikes differ in design. The Yamaha MT-07 is a true streetfighter with an upright rider triangle, whereas the R7 is a faired bike. Yamaha offers both of these 700cc bikes with similar hardware setups for the most part.

2023 Yamaha MT-07

Yamaha is offering the MT-07 and the R7 with a pair of 298mm front discs and a single 245mm rear disc. Yamaha has equipped both the 700cc siblings with a dual-channel ABS as a safety net. The Yamaha R7 rides on USD front forks and the MT 07 gets regular telescopic front forks. The mono-shock and the 17-inch wheels are shared by both the Yamaha 700 siblings. The wheels come wrapped in a 120/70 front and a 180/55 rear tyre on both Yamaha 700 bikes.

After its release in India, Yamaha R7 will compete with the Honda CBR 650R and Kawasaki Ninja 650. Also, the Yamaha MT-07 will lock horns with the Kawasaki Z650 and the Triumph Trident 660.
