Porsche has unveiled a new high performance variant for its 911 series, the GT3 RS in India. The car is one of the few machines which can balance the performance of a sports car with the easy driving nature of an everyday car. The car has arrived at the Porsche Bangalore center. It features lightweight and aerodynamic design while its driving system further provides the hypercar feel from the GT3 RS.
The track focused machine is powered by a 4.0 Litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine producing 500 HP and 460 Nm of torque. The engine on the 911 GT3 RS comes mated to a specifically tuned PDK transmission. It laps the famous Nurburgring circuit in 7 minutes and 20 seconds and claims a 0-100 kmph sprint time of just 3.3 seconds. The overall 0-200 kmph sprint takes 10.9 seconds, making it blazing fast on the track. The company claimed to speed of Porsche 911 GT3 RS is 310 kmph.
The car returns a company claimed 7.87 kmpl mileage while it uses the first in class, magnesium roof for reduced overall weight. This move clubs with the carbon fiber parts for a total reduction of 10 kg from the GT3’s weight. The RS variant gets its body design from the 911 Turbo and still comes out to be road legal with its aerodynamic add-on parts.
911 GT3 RS uses the widest tyres among all the 911 range, making it more agile on corners. The full carbon fiber seats are based on the 918 Spyder seats while the car comes with added safety features like roll cage on the back of the seats and six point safety harness for the driver. It is currently one of the best machine of its segment, facing no direct competition at this point.
