Royal Enfield Scram 411 Revealed; Affordable Version of Himalayan

Back on May 24 this year, we reported that Royal Enfield has trademarked the Scram brand name for an upcoming motorcycle. Now, according to a recent media report, the new product will be launched as Scram 411, which is basically an affordable and road-biased version of the Himalayan adventure motorcycle. BikeWale has even managed to reveal an undisguised image of the Scram 411.

Coming to the major design changes, in comparison to the Himalayan’s 21-inch front tyre, the RE Scram 411 is equipped with a 19-inch front tyre. On the other hand, the rear 17-inch rear tyre remains the same. In addition to the spoke wheel version, it is being reported that the Scram 411 will also be available with alloy wheels as optional.

If we talk about the front fascia, the upcoming motorcycle features an all-new headlight unit, which is smaller in comparison to the Himalayan 411. In addition to that, the Scram 411 features new fuel tank extensions, a single-piece seat, new side panels, a slightly different exhaust system, and Meteor’s instrument console featuring the brand’s tripper navigation.

Mechanically, there will be no changes and the Royal Enfield Scram 411 will continue to be powered by the same 411cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 24.3 Bhp @ 6500 rpm with a peak torque of 32Nm @ 4000-4500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

In terms of availability and pricing, the Scram 411 is expected to launch in India in October or November this year while the motorcycle is expected to be priced around INR 15,000 to INR 20,000 less than the Himalayan. For your reference, the Himalayan 411 is currently available in India with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.05 lakhs.
