0 Units of Hero Karizma ZMR Manufactured in Past 6 Months

According to a recent report by The Economic Times, one of the most desired motorcycles running through the streets for a decade, the Hero Karizma ZMR is on the verge of the dead-end considering that the brand has not manufactured a single unit of the 223cc sportbike in the past six months.

Earlier, disregarding the rumours of discontinuing the Hero Karizma ZMR, the brand commented – “Karizma is not discontinued and continues to be a part of our portfolio. At present, we are focusing on the model in our overseas markets.”

As no units of the motorcycle have been manufactured from the past six months, one can expect the brand to officially discontinue the Hero Karizma before the implementation of the new BS6 emission norms in the country from April 1, 2020.

Featuring the Bollywood prodigy, Hrithik Roshan as its brand ambassador, the Hero Karizma was launched in the Indian market in 2003 and the sportbike instantly gained popularity among the young riders.

The Hero Karizma witnessed a good run till 2009 though, the introduction of the mighty Yamaha R15 did sweep away most of its enthusiasts and forced Hero MotoCorp to launch the more powerful Karizma ZMR, which also bit the dust with the introduction of the Yamaha R15 V2 in addition to the other powerful competitors like KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and more.

The motorcycle was able to register a total of 314 units in the FY2018 while the sales number fell down to almost 50% in FY2019 by witnessing only 138 units in total sales. In addition to this, the brand has been able to export only 80 units of the motorcycle in the last fiscal year.

The Hero Karizma used to be one of the most popular products from the brand though, the launch of other powerful machines have finally made its sales to fall to zero.
