The top 10 best-selling bikes in the 150cc-250cc segment saw a downfall in total numbers. Bajaj Pulsar was the highest selling product with 56,737 units in December 2018 while TVS Apache bagged the second spot with 26,388 units. The most happening products were seen scaling the least possible numbers while Honda Unicorn also lost a large chunk of average yearly sales in December with just 19,925 units. Yamaha FZ, along with the numbers from their Fazer variants, scored 10,655 units.
The benefit of offering two different engine sizes was seen in the model as no other product could score comparable numbers to the FZ. Yamaha R15 bagged the fifth position but the number was all-time low at just 3484 units. The awaited ABS variant could have resulted in more buyers waiting for one more month. The Bajaj Avenger (counting both engine options) got 2874 units in the last month of 2018 while Honda CB Hornet was good for 2346 units. Yamaha SZ-RR is the eighth best selling product with 2008 units in December 2018.
Honda xBlade got just 1752 units while Hero Xtreme was good for 1671 units. The tenth model includes both 150 and 200cc variants. The numbers are almost negligible for remaining models from their respective brands. The fall in demand is seen every year around the last month but this time, the changes are visible at a large scale due to less-than-usual demand from the festive season. The numbers were not even satisfactory for some brands in October and November 2018.
