2-Wheeler Brands Retail Sales Report – Pan India (July 2022)

According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), retail sales of two-wheelers are down 10.92 per cent year on year. In July 2022, sales totalled 10,09,574 units, a decrease from 11,33,344 units sold in July 2021. It was a 13.70 per cent increase over the 8,87,942 units sold in July 2020, but a 27.86 per cent decrease from the 13,99,532 units sold in July 2019.

Hero MotoCorp topped this list with retail sales of 3,20,301 units in July 2022, a decrease from July 2021. Honda’s two-wheeler retail sales were 2,62,054 units, a decrease from the sales in July 2021 but an overall YoY increase. TVS Motor Company ranked third, with retail sales of 1,65,145 units in July 2022. This represented only a marginal decrease from units sold in July 2021.

Both Bajaj Auto and Suzuki reported YoY declines. While Yamaha Motors India was the only ICE-powered leading two-wheeler manufacturer to post YoY growth. Royal Enfield saw a decline in retail sales, with a marginal increase in market share to 3.98 per cent. Hero Electric sold 8,679 units, up from 4,223 units in July 2021.

Okinawa Autotech reported retail sales of 7,999 units in July 2022, up from 2,580 units in July 2021. Ampere Vehicles came in second with 6,106 retail unit sales, up from 657 in July 2021. Ola Electric two-wheeler retails stood at 3,426 units in the previous month.

Revolt, Ather, Benling India, Okaya EV, and PURE Energy ranked lower on the list. Other two-wheeler retail sales increased to 4,615 units in July 2022 from 1,919 units in July 2021, including electric two-wheeler manufacturers.
