Auto Industry Slowdown: Major Car Brands Register Downfall in India

Auto Industry Slowdown Continues in India: The brand-wise car sales report for August 2019 has recently surfaced and every major car brand has witnessed a gradual downfall in sales when compared to the same month last year. Things seem to be turning out for bad for every other carmaker during the past few months. One of the major reasons for the downfall could be that most of the customers are waiting for the brands to introduce their BS6 variants, which are expected to launch shortly. Amidst all this, the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 is also one of the reasons that customers are putting a hold on buying new cars. As per the latest sales report, Maruti Suzuki registered a sale figure of 93,173 units in August 2019, witnessing a downfall in sales by 36% as compared to the same month last year. The brand registered a total of 1,45,624 units in July 2018. Standing second on the list is Hyundai, being able to register a sales figure of 38,000 units in August 2019. The brand has seen a downfall of 17% when compared to the sales number of August 2018.
