We are back with the brand-wise car sales report and as usual, the list has been led by Maruti Suzuki that was good enough to register a sales figure of 1,39,844 units in January 2020. The brand witnessed a slight increase of 0.3% in terms of sales when compared to the sales number posted in January 2019.
Hyundai marked itself at second position with a sales figure of 42,002 units for last month. The third position in the list has been bagged by Mahindra that witnessed a sales figure of 19,555 units. The brand which has shown impressive sales is Kia. Ranking at fourth position with 15,450 units on its side, Kia Motor has been able to beat popular brands like Tata, Toyota, Honda, and Ford.
Tata Motors grabbed the fifth position with a sales figure of 13,893 units, which is 22% less than what it had posted in January 2019. The sixth position in the list has been marked by Renault which registered 7,805 units by witnessing YoY (Year-over-Year) growth of 34%.
Toyota positioned itself at seventh position in the list with a sales figure of 5,804 units. Going down in the list we have MG Motor that was good for 3,130 units. Here is the complete brand-wise car sales report for January 2020.
Quick Note: The premium brands like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Maserati, Rolly-Royce, and Lamborghini don’t reveal their monthly sales numbers. We have also not included Fiat as they have stopped selling their cars in India. At present, the Fiat Chrysler Group is selling only Jeep SUVs in the Indian market.
