Maruti Suzuki Registers Huge Sales Drop in September 2019

According to the recent sales numbers revealed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited for September 2019, the brand has witnessed a total decline in sales by 24.4% as compared to the same month last year. The brand has been able to witness a total sales of 1,22,640 units last month which includes 1,12,500 units sold in the domestic markets, 2,952 units of OEM sales to Toyota, and 7,188 units sold in exports.

Comparing the sales numbers with September 2018, the brand has registered a total decline in sales by around 40,000 units. Comparing the total sales of financial months from April to September 2019, the brand has been able to witness a total sales of 7,40,911 units, leading to a 24% decline when compared to the 9,75,327 units sold in the same financial months of 2018.

In addition to this, the brand has only registered 1,10,454 units of passenger vehicle sales in September 2019 and registered a decline in sales by 27.1% when compared to the 1,51,512 units retailed in the same month in 2018. The overall decline in sales considering the bad overall economy in the country has hampered with the brand’s success in the market for the year 2019.

The major aspirants in the brand’s entry-level segment which includes the Alto, Wagon R, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, and Dzire have been able to get a total sales of 77,264 in September 2019 while registering a decline in the total number by 29.1% when compared to the 1,08,892 units retailed in 2018 in the same month.

Coming to the UV segment, the major shots have been handled by Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, and XL6 that have registered almost similar sales when compared to last year. Judging from the recent data, the brand should focus on launching new UVs in the future to register better sales as well as to set a strong foothold in the automotive market once again.
