According to the recent model-wise sales report of November 2019, the sales figure for the Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure motorcycle is higher than the combined sales number registered by the KTM 390 Twins and the Bajaj Dominar 400. The motorcycles we have considered feature almost similar engine displacement while offering a neck-to-neck competition to each other in the Indian motorcycle segment.
With a total of 793 units sold in November 2019, the Royal Enfield Himalayan has witnessed a Y-o-Y growth of 4% while also surpassing the total sales number of the KTM 390 Twins and the Bajaj Dominar 400, which stands at 562 units.
The KTM 390 Duke and the RC 390 have been able to bag a total sales of 251 units in November 2019, witnessing a total growth in sales by 5% when compared to the same month last year. The Bajaj Dominar 400 has been able to witness a total sales of 311 units in November 2019 while the Y-o-Y growth stands at 83% for the sports tourer.
The current-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan is available at a price tag of INR 1.80 lakh and features a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine that is good for a maximum power of 24.5HP @ 6500 rpm and an utmost torque of 32Nm @ 4250-4500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
On the other hand, the customers can avail the KTM Duke 390 and the RC 390 at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.48 lakh and INR 2.44 lakh respectively. Powering the motorcycles is a 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that is capable of offering 43.5HP of maximum power.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is presently available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom) while features a 373.3cc, triple-spark, 4-valve, DOHC engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 40HP @ 8650 rpm and a peak torque of 35Nm @ 7000 rpm.
