Sales Report: Just 4 Units of Hero Karizma ZMR Sold in January 2019

Hero Karizma ZMR registered just 4 units in the month of January 2019. The brand once shocked everyone with the launch event for Karizma ZMR V2 in India, introducing the same old design that almost made fans cry after the discontinuation of the older design. It came back with INR 1.08 lakh for single and INR 1,10,500 for the dual tone shade. Here is a complete sales report for the Karizma ZMR for the last few months of its existence.

The numbers are not even considered, taking into account that similarly priced bikes are good for five-digit sales number and Hero MotoCorp has more than 6000 touch points across the country. They have sold more than 80-million units, consisting mostly of commuter segment bikes like Splendor and Passion. Karizma was once the bestseller of its segment and now, the position is lost to Bajaj Pulsar 220F.

Karizma is powered by a 223cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 20 BHP of maximum power at 8000 rpm and 19.7 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The model available now is equipped with oil-cooler and fuel injection as standard. They should have introduced the R variant alongside this ZMR, offering buyers with the same sort of power and a reduced price tag of around INR 90,000.

Karizma will witness a complete overhaul in the next two years, most probably bringing the bigger 300cc engine for direct competition to Apache RR 310. Also, most brands will move away from the existing segments as mandatory ABS rule will result in a further rise in effective pricing. Hero MotoCorp will focus on weight reduction and design enhancement, taking cues from the HX250R concept that never saw the daylight.
