110cc Honda Scoopy Scooter Patent Gets Filed in India; Hints Launch Plans

HMSI has filed a number of patents in India in recent times, indicating that the Japanese brand intends to debut a number of new models in the country. However, the application is from 2021. It is another prominent addition to the company’s two-wheeler lineup in the Indian market. While a simple patent application does not ensure an official launch, Scoopy makes a lot of sense for the Indian market. The scooter was first sighted in testing in India in 2017, but it was never released.

To begin with, the Honda Scoopy is powered by the same 109.51cc air-cooled engine used in the Activa and Dio. The Indonesia-spec Scoopy, on the other hand, generates 9PS and 9.3Nm, while the Activa generates 7.79PS and 8.84Nm, and the Dio generates 7.76PS and 9Nm. If Honda maintains the Scoopy’s performance for the Indian market, it might be the most powerful 110cc Honda not only in India but also among its competitors.

The Honda Scoopy is a truly modern classic scooter with a nostalgic style that appeals to both young and old riders. When compared to its sector rivals like Hero Pleasure Plus, Maestro Edge, and TVS Jupiter, as well as its Indian peers, Honda Dio and Activa 6G, it certainly stands out in terms of design. The Honda Scoopy is a one-of-a-kind product, with its apron-mounted oval-shaped headlamp cluster and sleek sweeping lines typical of European scooters.

The manufacturer has also loaded the scooter with a plethora of features, comprising a single-piece saddle, keyless ignition system, semi-digital instrument console, a USB charger, 15.4-litre under-seat storage, a side stand indicator and a multi-function hook at the front. In terms of safety and security, the new Scoopy includes smart keys with an answer-back feature and an anti-theft alarm. Besides this, the Honda Scoopy rides on 12-inch alloy wheels at both the front and rear ends.
