According to recent reports, the 2020 Suzuki Burgman 200 has been recently launched by the brand in Japan. The scooter is now available to the customers in the Japanese markets with new colour schemes while the price tag for its MY2020 variant remains the same.
The 2020 Suzuki Burgman 200 is now available at a similar price tag of JPY 485,000 (INR 3.43 lakh) when compared to its last-gen variant. The new colour schemes offered to the two-wheeler includes ‘Titan Black’ and ‘Matte Platinum Silver Metallic’ while the ‘Brilliant White’ colour option has been carried forward from the last-gen variant. The brand has officially discontinued the ‘Matte Fibroin Grey Metallic’ and ‘Matte Black Metallic’ colour schemes for the two-wheeler in the Japanese markets.
Apart from the addition of new colour schemes, the 200cc maxi scooter remains mechanically and cosmetically unaltered. The brand has equipped the scooter with twin headlights while the front fascia further carries a large windscreen.
The large and comfortable single-piece saddle features 41 litres of under-seat storage which can further accommodate two full-face helmets at a time. The front pocket of the maxi-scooter has been designed for ample storage and features a 12V DC socket for charging electronics.
Powering the 2020 Suzuki Burgman 200 is the same 199cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 18HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 16Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine remains mated to a CVT gearbox. The kerb weight of the maxi-scooter stands at 163 kg while the company-claimed fuel efficiency stands at 36 kmpl.
The Indian markets currently feature a Suzuki Burgman Street 125cc scooter while the brand is expected to offer the higher-displacement Burgman 180 by September 2020 though there has been no official confirmation received on the same.
