2023 Honda Activa With Smart Key Launched At Rs 80,537

Honda Activa is the most popular scooter in India and it has received generational updates and other features at regular intervals. Special editions have also been released on festivals and special occasions.

The brand has now released a new top-end variant of the Activa scooter, which is known as the Activa Smart variant with an advanced security system. With the Activa Smart variant, owners can expect a reduced risk of theft. It has been launched with an ex-showroom price tag of 80,537.

The functions of the Activa Smart Key are like those found in modern cars. When the smart key is within range, you can unlock the scooter, start it, access the boot space, and also open the fuel lid. It also has an auto-locking feature. Activa Smart will lock itself once the smart key has left the range. The Smart Key Activa variant receives new alloys and a new colour option.

Honda already has an advanced security platform known as Honda Ignition Security System. It’s in premium motorcycles such as the CBR650R, CB650R, and CRF1100L Africa Twin (HISS). H-Smart is a low-cost version of HISS, designed for Honda’s entry-level two-wheelers.

H-Smart is difficult to crack because it opens the lock with a contact-based mechanism. This differs from the traditional remote keyless system. Honda’s H-Smart is difficult to copy or replicate in real time because it uses a contact-based mechanism to match the code.

H-Smart also makes things simpler and less stressful for users. It is activated when the key is removed from the scooter. Of course, the handle lock remains and will continue to serve as the first level of security.

Other Honda 2-wheelers will receive this feature as well, in the coming months. As it is relevant from a practical standpoint, other OEMs may also include similar features in their respective models.

The performance figures of the 2023 Honda Activa Smart version are the same as before. The 109.51 cc motor in the Activa Smart produces 7.73 HP of max power and 8.90 Nm of peak torque. It has an automatic v-belt transmission.

The frame of the Activa is underdone while the suspension is handled by telescopic front forks and a 3-step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic rear suspension. It has 12-inch front wheels and 10-inch rear wheels, and 130 mm drum brakes on both ends.
