Yamaha recently launched its maxi-style scooter Force 2.0 in Taiwan with a price tag of TWD 99,000, which is approximately 2.70 lakh Indian rupees.

This scooter is based on the Aerox 155 that was recently introduced in the Indian two-wheeler market at a price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has now made significant changes to the scooter as part of the upgrade.

The design is considerably sharper, and the dual headlights are sleeker, as is the tail lamp, which is now a more straightforward, straight line rather than the previous angular one.

In terms of appearance, the Yamaha Force continues with the halogen bulb for the headlamp while the side panels are redesigned and also, it exhibits a signature A-shaped element now. As far as colour choices are concerned, it is offered in four colour choices.

The most noticeable difference in style between Force 2.0 and Aerox is the former’s flat floorboard against the latter’s spine running through the centre of the floorboard. Other changes include a flat single-piece seat and new alloy wheel styles. It drives on 13-inch alloy wheels instead of the 14alloy wheels that were offered on the Aerox.

Powering Force 2.0 is the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is already available in the R15 V4, MT15, as well as Aerox. The engine gets Yamaha’s patent on Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. The scooter is built on a new chassis, allowing the two-wheeler manufacturer to adjust the total proportions to meet the specifications.

The Force 2.0’s seat is flatter than the Aerox’s, and the seat height has increased from 805mm to 815mm. The company has also improved the suspension equipment, with the Force 2.0 including dual shocks with preload adjustment, as opposed to the prior mono-shock. When it comes to the India launch of the scooter, it does not seem to happen too soon.
