One of the leading automakers, Bajaj has sent out media invites for its upcoming launch event which is supposed to take place on October 16, 2019. The recent reports suggest that the brand will be launching the much-talked-about Bajaj Urbanite electric scooter at the forthcoming event.
To jog your memory, the Bajaj Urbanite is a separate venture that has been specifically developed to introduce sustainable mobility in the country. The brand will be unveiling electric vehicles under the Urbanite moniker.
Here is the official invite sent out by the brand for its launch event which will feature Mr Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways along with Mr Amitabh Kant, CEO of Niti Aayog as the chief guests:
We Wrote History. Now We Will Write the Future
We are Proud to Invite You to HAMARA KAL!
A special launch event that announces we are done waiting for tomorrow…
Since the brand has sent out media invites for a launch event, one can expect the brand to unveil the Urbanite brand in addition to launching the very first product under its category. The recently surfaced spy shots of a Bajaj scooter somewhat points towards the launch of an electric scooter which will act as the torchbearer of the new electric vehicle venture called “Urbanite”.
Featuring a host of innovative features, the Bajaj Urbanite electric scooter is expected to resurrect the long-gone Chetak scooter though now having an electric powertrain. Expected to be christened as Bajaj Chetak electric, the upcoming e-scooter will feature an overall LED lighting setup with Bluetooth connectivity in addition to getting various AI features.
Taking the styling cues from the Vespa, the front apron of the e-scooter has been offered the same design language. The retro styling of the scooter will be further complemented by the multi-spoke alloy wheels and chrome rearview mirrors. Once launched in India, the Bajaj Urbanite scooter will compete in the market with the likes of Ather 450. One can expect the brand to price the upcoming electric scooter competitively at around INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
