The Chinese brand Benling recently entered the Indian market with the launch of three electric scooters namely Falcon, Icon, and Kriti. As per a recent report, the company is soon going to launch its flagship product, the Benling Aura in September this year. It will be the first product by the Chinese brand that will be entering the segment of high-speed range of the electric scooters available in India.
Benling Aura electric scooter will be powered by a 2500W BLDC motor or better called a brushless DC motor. The upcoming product will come equipped with a 72V/40Ah lithium-ion battery. This battery has benefits as it can be charged through a normal electric socket that we have at home. The battery takes a short period of 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100%. This powerful combination of the motor and the battery is responsible to provide the scooter with a range of 120km on a single charge along with a top speed of 60km/h.
Benling Aura electric scooter has promising mechanical features as the front end comes with a telescopic suspension setup and the rear end has twin shocks that offer a good load-carrying ability and comfortable ride quality. It is equipped with disc brakes on both the ends which ensures a smooth and safe ride by working well in dry and wet weather conditions and the scooter is equipped with 12-inch wheels with 90/90 profile tubeless tyres.
Though the brand has not officially revealed the scooter yet, it is rumoured that the upcoming scooter will be similar to the Vespa in terms of looks. The design will comprise of a round headlamp, turn indicators on the front cowl, large flat seats, a big footboard, and classic-looking tail light at the rear.
The electric scooter will also be packed with features like a fully-digital instrument cluster, an anti-theft alarm, a revers-park assist, and keyless-access system. It will also possess an unusual ‘Smart Breakdown Assistance’ that will allow it to cover an additional 15km distance in case of a breakdown.
Among future ventures, the company also plans to bring a second model that will be packed with similar specifications as the Aura and may be brought to the market somewhere in 2020.
