BS6 2020 Honda Dio Launched in India @ INR 59,990

Honda is continuously working towards the transition of its BS4 models to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The company has now officially launched the BS6-compliant Dio scooter, which is approximately INR 7,000 costlier than the BS4 model. The BS6 2020 Honda Dio is available in two variants: Standard and Deluxe, priced at INR 59,990 and INR 63,340 respectively. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi.

Mechanically, the Honda Dio comes powered with a BS6-compliant 110cc engine that gets programmed fuel-injection along with Honda Eco Technology (HET). There is a slight drop in the power figure of the scooter. It now produces 7.7HP of maximum power at 8,000 rpm along with 9.0Nm of peak torque at 4,750 rpm. It comes featured with Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (ESP) system that optimises the energy output and the scooter also features a new silent start system, which uses the AC generator by eliminating the conventional starter motor that causes gear meshing noises.

Honda has worked on the design elements too. The Deluxe variant of the scooter features an LED headlight just like Activa 6G. The standard variant of the BS6 2020 Honda Dio features black wheels while the Deluxe version comes equipped with Golden wheels.

The suspension duty at the front is now handled by telescopic forks. The 2020 model of Dio also gets a larger 12-inch front wheel that replaces the 10-inch unit present in the outgoing BS4 model. The wheelbase of the scooter has also been increased by 22mm in the BS6-compliant model.

There are a few more features that have been inherited from the Activa 6G like the external fuel filler cap and a pass-light switch. The 2020 BS6 model of the Honda Dio is also equipped with a new white back-lit all-digital instrument console which looks pretty neat and futuristic.

There are a total of seven colours in which the BS6 model of the Dio is available. The Standard variant of the scooter has four colour options: Candy Jazzy Blue, Sports Red, Mat Axis Grey Metallic and Vibrant Orange. The Deluxe variant, on the other hand, has three colour options: Matt Sangria Red Metallic, Dazzle Yellow Metallic, and Matt Axis Grey Metallic.
