According to recent reports, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have recalled its BS6 Honda Activa 6G, Activa 125 and Dio that have been manufactured between February 15 and February 25, 2020. All three two-wheelers from the brand have been recalled due to a rear cushion fault that can further lead to oil leakage or breakage thus leading to major vehicle imbalance.
The officials at the dealerships are voluntarily calling every individual owner of the three products to know if there is an issue with their rear cushion and are ready to replace it free of cost. In addition to this, if the customers have purchased the BS6 Honda Activa 6G, Activa 125 and Dio before 14 February 2020, they can visit their nearest Honda dealership and get their scooter accessed to see if it is a part of the recall.
The BS6 Honda Activa 125 was also recalled by the brand last month due to a potential oil gauge and cooling fan cover defect. The brand has not yet declared the total number of two-wheelers affected by the defect. The BS6 Honda Activa 125 was launched in Sept 2019 while the Activa 6G was launched in January 2020.
Powering the BS6 Honda Activa 6G and Honda Dio is a 109.51cc single-cylinder engine that is good for 7.8HP of power and 8.79Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the BS6 Honda Activa 125 is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder engine that is capable of offering 8.3HP of power and 10.3Nm of utmost torque.
The Honda Activa 125 with a BS6-compliant engine is currently available in the markets at a starting price tag of INR 67,490 while the Honda Activa 6G is available at INR 63,912 for the standard variant and INR 65,412 for the Deluxe variant. The BS6 Honda Dio, on the other hand, is available at INR 59,990 for the standard version and INR 63,340 for the Deluxe version. All the prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi.
