Honda Vario 160 Premium Scooter Details And Official Photos

Honda has recently expanded its scooter lineup by adding the new Vario 160, a sporty-looking scooter for the Indonesian market. It’s worth noting here that the brand is already selling Vario 125 and Vario 150 scooters in Indonesia and has now brought in its most powerful sibling.

Honda started producing Vario scooters in 2006 and continuously offers cosmetic as well as performance updates to give neck-to-neck competition to other scooter brands in the market. Intriguingly, the Vario 160 directly rivals the Yamaha Aerox 155 in Indonesia.

In terms of design and styling, the new Honda Vario 160 gets sharp and edgy styling inspired by maxi-scooters, although it’s not a proper maxi-scooter. This scooter gets an aggressive design language with sophisticated features.

To kick off with the front fascia, the scooter gets all-new twin-beam headlights with LED DRLs. Over the headlights, there are turn indicators with LED position lamps. Furthermore, the Vario marking is done in 3D lettering on the front fender.

Looking at the rear end, the edgy and sharp design language of the front has been carried forward to the tail section and rear fender. The single-piece grab rail adds to the robust appeal of the Vario 160.

While the blacked-out elements like alloy wheels, exhaust muffler, floorboard, small visor, and rearview mirrors enhance the scooter’s sporty appearance. In addition, the scooter gets some prominent features like a USB charger, a digital instrumental console, and a smart key.

Honda has presented the new Vario 160 in two variants: CBS and dual-channel ABS. Powering the scooter is a 160cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 15 hp at 8500rpm and a max torque of 13.8 Nm at 7000rpm and is coupled to a V-Matic automatic transmission.

Braking has been done by disc brakes on both the front and rear, while suspension duties are assigned to telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm at the rear end. As far as its India launch is concerned, it doesn’t seem to happen in the near future.
