Husqvarna Scooter Details Leaked; Based on New Bajaj Chetak Electric

According to a recent report from IAB, Husqvarna is working on an electric scooter based on the Bajaj Chetak’s platform. The Husqvarna scooter is expected to hit the markets in the year 2021 and the brand will debut the electric scooter in the European countries first, followed by the launch in India. The leaked image of the Husqvarna electric scooter features a different design language when compared to Bajaj Chetak though one can expect the same mechanical underpinnings.

The Husqvarna scooter reportedly features larger rims when compared to the Chetak while at the same time, the brand will also let go of the single-sided swingarm seen on the new model of the Chetak. The front end of the electric scooter is expected to feature a round LED headlight unit while the handlebar is expected to feature a wide windshield. One can expect Husqvarna to offer an all-digital instrument console to the brand’s first-ever electric scooter.

The reports suggest the upcoming scooter to feature all premium components while offering better power and torque figures. The Husqvarna scooter is expected to be made available in two variants. The base model is expected to get a 4kW motor borrowed from Bajaj Chetak while the other variant is expected to feature a more-powerful 10kW electric motor.

The upcoming electric scooter from Husqvarna is expected to feature fast charging just like the Bajaj Chetak. The latter is known to feature an IP67 rated battery that takes only 5 hours for a full charge.

Coming to the other features, the Husqvarna scooter is expected to feature disc brakes at either side in addition to featuring a Bluetooth-enabled console. Since the price tag of the Bajaj Chetak is expected to be as high as INR 1.30 lakhs (on-road), one can expect the Husqvarna electric scooter to get a premium of around INR 15,000- INR 20,000 when compared to the Bajaj Chetak.
