Due to the shortfall of the semiconductor chip and lithium-ion cells, which are the major components of an e-scooter, the delivery dates of Ola S1 have been rescheduled to December 15-December 31. In addition to this, the second purchase window has also been delayed to December 16, 2021. This is the second time when the company has delayed the deliveries of their e-scooter, which were originally supposed to commence in the October-November period.
Ola’s new S1 electric scooter is part of its “Make in India” initiative. This elegant e-scooter has no key and instead uses a mobile phone to power on. Its tubular frame and simplistic fibre body, along with LED headlamps and side indicators, give it a futuristic look. It has a single fork and mono-shock front and rear suspensions, respectively, along with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes for a safer and smoother drive.
It stands on a 110/70-R12 front tyre with alloy on it. Sufficient legroom is provided, which makes it suitable for tall people to drive and has a long, comfortable seat to carry two passengers comfortably. It is not simply an electric scooter, but a smart electric scooter. The touchscreen display provides a lot of controls, such as playing music, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. This scooter starts only after entering the passcode on the screen.
In terms of battery, the all-new Ola S1 comes with a 3.97kWh lithium-ion battery that generates a power of 8500W and a max torque of 58 Nm. The Ola S1 Variant can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.6 seconds and from 0 to 60 km/h in nearly 7 seconds. However, the S1 Pro Variant can accelerate from zero to 40 km/hr in 3 seconds, and from 0 to 60 km/hr can be reached in just 5 seconds.
The Ola electric scooter is available in two models: the S1 Variant and the S1 Pro Variant, with the S1 Variant primarily aimed at budget-conscious users and the S1 Pro Variant aimed at users seeking advanced performance and range in this type of electric scooter.
