Ola Electric launched its two scooters, the S1 and S1 Pro, on August 15, 2021, and they have gained immense popularity. Bookings for both scooters were opened after one month of the launch and the procedure alone brought in Rs 1,100 crore for the Chennai-based EV producer. Now, after a short wait, the company is all set to commence the test rides from November 10, 2021. In part of the preparation, its founder, Mr Bhavish Aggarwal, announced the launch of the first hyper charger by the brand.
While sharing a post on Twitter, Mr Aggarwal mentioned, “The first Ola electric hyper charger goes live… charging up my S1 after the morning trip…” This first hyper charger is installed in Banglore. The brand previously stated that it will provide charging support to its clients through its ‘Hypercharger’ system, which will be planted in over 100,000 locations/touchpoints throughout 400 cities in the country.
By using this charger, the Ola riders will be able to charge their S1 and S1 Pro batteries from 0-50% in just 18 minutes, which will be enough for a half-cycle range of 75km. The company’s website provides a city-by-city plan of charging network locations, with the majority of Tier I and Tier II cities serviced by their charging network. The Hypercharger stations will have a layered configuration to accommodate several clients at the same time.
Apart from that, the company had paused the booking process because of the high demand for the scooters. As per the latest details available, the second window for bookings will open on December 16, 2021, and interested customers can pre-book the scooters on Ola’s official website by depositing Rs 499 as a token amount.
Moreover, customers who have already reserved the scooters can purchase them by paying Rs. 20,000 first and the rest before shipment, also, they can opt for EMI while making the rest of the payment.
