According to recent reports, the Peugeot Pulsion scooter has been spotted in India for the first time. The motorcycle division of Peugeot has been recently acquired by Mahindra Two-Wheelers Europe while the reports further suggest that Mahindra must have imported the Peugeot Pulsion in India to evaluate if they can manufacture the scooter at the brand’s manufacturing unit in Pithampur for export purpose.
Since there is no displacement moniker visible on the recently spotted Peugeot Pulsion, one can safely assume it to feature a 125cc engine that has been recently debuted in the international markets. As per the reports, the brand takes care of the production and manufacturing of the Pulsion 125 at its Mandeure plant located in France.
Internationally, the Peugeot Pulsion is available in the markets in three variants namely Allure, Active, and the top-spec RS model. Powering the Pulsion is a 125cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 14.6hp and a peak torque of 11.9Nm.
Coming to the front fascia, the scooter has been equipped with LED projector headlights while the windscreen features a large Peugeot logo. Taking inspiration from the Peugeot 308 car, the brand has further equipped the Pulsion with an analogue speedometer in addition to offering a reverse rev-counter.
The recently spotted scooter has been further equipped with Michelin tyres though there is no confirmation if the brand has offered any local components to the 125cc Pulsion. The brand further offers the Pulsion with a connected vehicle system that allows the rider to connect his smartphone to the TFT instrument display via a dedicated app.
The application allows the user to use GPS data to plan the trips according to the traffic stats. In addition to this, the connected system offers apt riding data as well as other messages and notifications on the display itself. There is no official confirmation on the availability of the Peugeot Pulsion in the Indian markets as of yet. If launched in India, one can expect the 125cc scooter to get a premium price tag.
